Friday General Session - No Further Service

During this presentation, we will discuss navigating challenging behaviors and situations with patients and their families, up to and
including when an organization may no longer be able to provide service to a patient. Best practice strategies will be shared to ensure
that regulation is followed and patient rights are maintained.


Bethany Ward

Manager; Patient Relations

UW Health Wisconsin

Bethany Ward is the Patient Relations Manager for UW Health Wisconsin. Bethany has held leadership roles at UW Health for 8 years,
previously serving as Neuropsychology Supervisor and Child Life Services Manager. Prior experiences include her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with specialization in Learning and Behavior, teaching in public schools, managing a pediatric diagnostic clinic. This variety of experiences has brought opportunities to address needs and behaviors of patients and families in multiple settings, while also seeing the effectiveness of core behavior management principles in all environments.

  • Evaluate key principles in a no further service process
  • Discuss key considerations and regulation that guide our work
  • Review stakeholders who could support a multi-disciplinary approach
